Land Clearing in Clinton, AR

Home › Areas We Service › Clinton

Clinton sits north of us up Highway 65, and the country around it is some of the most wooded we work in.

Hardwood timber on a sloping hillside with heavy leaf litter

Clinton is the Van Buren County seat, up US 65 from Greenbrier and well into the Ozark foothills. The ground changes noticeably on the way there. South of Conway it rolls; by the time you reach Clinton it climbs, and timber covers most of what is not pasture or roadway.

That terrain shapes nearly every job. Slope is the first thing we look at, because it decides how a property should be cleared rather than just how long it takes. Stripping a hillside to bare dirt invites erosion, and erosion here does not stay put - it ends up in the creek bottoms and on somebody's road. Mulching is often the better method on this ground for exactly that reason: the root structure stays intact and the chip layer holds the surface together through heavy rain.

Access is the second thing. Getting a machine safely onto and off sloped ground, sometimes along a narrow county road or a drive that was never built for equipment, is part of the work rather than an afterthought. We would rather establish that standing on the property than discover it with a loaded trailer.

Rock is common this far north, and it changes excavation completely. Digging in rock is not the same job as digging in loam, and two properties that look alike from the road can price very differently once somebody has walked them. It is one of the main reasons we do not quote land over the phone.

A lot of the property up this way is recreational or wooded acreage rather than working farmland, so the calls tend to be about opening ground back up: clearing sightlines, taking back a trail or a fence line, reaching the back of a place that has grown over, or clearing a site for a cabin or a shop.

Driveways take a particular beating on this terrain. A drive cut into a slope acts as a channel unless it is built not to be, and water running down its length rather than off the side will move the rock to the bottom of the hill a season at a time.

Clinton is within our service area, and we're happy to connect with property owners in the community to discuss their projects and see how we can help!
